StarShip Shipping Software Support Services

V-Technologies offers a variety of support services for the StarShip shipping software application.

StarShip Installation Service

The following services will be provided by an experienced member of our Technical Support Team:

      1. Conduct a pre-installation call to work out a game plan for deployment
        • Review the pre-installation checklist and schedule
      2. Conduct the installation on the agreed upon appointment date
        • Installation/configuration of a Microsoft SQL Server Express instance to host the StarShip database
        • Installation & configuration of the StarShip Server on one server
        • Creation of the StarShip database
        • Installation of the StarShip Client on up to two workstations
        • Configure integration with a single Source System (ERP, accounting, ecommerce)
        • Configure accounts for up to two licensed carriers
        • Configure shipping label printer, document printer and electronic scale for the two workstations above
        • Complete a test shipment as follows
          1. Retrieve the source document (sales order or invoice)
          2. Rate and process shipment
          3. Print shipping label and Bill of Lading (if applicable)
          4. Verify the source document is updated in the Source/Financial System
      3. Conduct a brief post-installation appointment within 30 days of the installation date. It is the responsibility of the client to provide a date which falls within this time period.
        • Review action items/outstanding issues from the installation

StarShip Upgrade Service

V-Technologies offers an upgrade service for the StarShip shipping software. For each StarShip upgrade project, the following services will be provided by an experienced member of our Technical Support Team:

      1. Conduct a pre-upgrade call to work on a game plan for the upgrade
      2. Conduct the upgrade on the agreed upon appointment date/time
        • Create a backup of the current StarShip database
        • Upgrade the StarShip Server/database on one server
        • Upgrade the StarShip Client and Dashboard shortcuts on up to two workstations
        • Complete a test shipment as follows
          1. Retrieve the source document (sales order or invoice)
          2. Rate and process shipment
          3. Print shipping label and Bill of Lading (if applicable)
          4. Verify the source document is updated in the Source/Financial System
      3. Perform a quick review of the major features introduced in the current version

StarShip Product Training

V-Technologies offers a product training service for the StarShip software. For each StarShip training project, the following services will be provided by an experienced member of our Technical Support Team:

      1. Review topics identified and submitted by the customer
      2. Provide suggestions on optimization and “best practices”
      3. Answer any questions

It is required that StarShip is fully configured and functional to prevent any unforeseen interruptions during the training. The client’s workstation(s) will require an internet connection.

General Consultation Services

V-Technologies offers general consulting services for the StarShip software for items not covered by the standard support contracts.

Note: Appointments are first-come, first-serve pending technician availability, calendar availability and receipt of requirement signed statement of work/checklist documents. All aspects of the services are performed remotely in the customer’s environment. V-Technologies will provide the means of remotely connecting to the client’s machine via BomGar unless an alternative remote software tool is provided by the customer or reseller.
