STARSHIP UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS
Please review the following instructions carefully prior to running the StarShip upgrade.
Multi-Account customers should refer to this page instead:

Note: Multi-Account refers to customers who use more than one UPS # per StarShip installation.

CHECKING STARSHIP VERSION AND PROGRAM PATH

|

From the StarShip main menu choose:
Help > About > More
|

|
The About Details window shows:
Version
Build#
Program Path
Data Path
and other details specific to your StarShip installation.

BEFORE RUNNING THE UPGRADE

|

|
- Note all workstations where StarShip is installed, including the machine running the StarShip GTC. Need Help? click here...
- Keep a record of where your StarShip program path is located. Need Help? click here...
- NOTE: New registration keys are required for all users who are upgrading to version 9.9.82
Users current on Subscription should have received their new registration key by email. You may also request new key(s) by
contacting the Sales Department at 800.462.4016 option 1.
Multi-Account customers should refer to this page instead:

- Run end-of-day close to process any current shipments.
- Make sure all users have exited completely out of StarShip.

DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

Note: If installing the StarShip Upgrade from a CD, disregard download instructions. Insert CD and click on Install StarShip from splash screen.
- Customers current on Subscription will receive the download link and registration key via email. Other customers wishing to upgrade should visit our
online store at: shop.vtechnologies.com
- In the email you receive, click on the download link. You will be prompted to open the file or save it to your computer.
Select "Save" and make note of where you store the file.
If you have multiple workstations running StarShip, save this file in a shared directory so that every workstation can access it.

RUNNING THE UPGRADE

- Run the upgrade on the StarShip GTC machine first. Need help locating the GTC machine? click here... Then upgrade all remaining workstations on which StarShip is installed.
- Using Windows Explorer, locate the file you saved in step 2 of download instructions above. Double click the .exe file to run it.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
- StarShip will detect the previous version and prompt for your new registration key during the install process.
- Be sure to complete the upgrade on all StarShip workstations, including the GTC machine, prior to opening StarShip from any individual workstation.

LOCATING STARSHIP GTC MACHINE

|

From the StarShip MAIN menu select Setup > Diagnostics > GTC tab. The GTC tab will either have a local directory (if local) or a network host name or IP address (if running on a different machine).
If running multiple GTC's, run this procedure on each StarShip machine.
